SSR Events worked on this idea from inception to execution, ensuring the ongoing success of this event. Colors Against Cancer was inspired by Edgemont community member, Taylor Matthews. Taylor was diagnosed with pediatric cancer, her hope was that no child would ever have to face cancer again. She founded an organization called Taybandz to raise funds for pediatric cancer research. SSR Events wanted to ensure that the Edgemont community remembered Taylor’s mission after her passing and designed Colors Against Cancer as a way to bring the entire community together to celebrate Taylor's life, spirit, and love of rainbows.  SSR Events gained approval from the town board and school district to host this event, sourced thousands of dollars in sponsorships and product donations from local businesses, obtained goody bag items for attendees, color powder and t-shirts for participants, created a website and marketing materials to promote the event to the entire community, and secured hundreds of attendees and volunteers. The event was highly successful and has since raised over $50,000.
